About
Challenging what is and inspiring what could be — through data, technology, and education.
My path to becoming a fractional CIO/CDO started in the trenches of enterprise data — building analytics capabilities at O2 Czech Republic, scaling data teams at AVG Technologies through its acquisition, and later leading data strategy at Avast Software as it grew into a global cybersecurity leader.
These roles taught me that most "data problems" aren't really about data. They're about unclear ownership, misaligned incentives, missing capabilities, or technology choices made without understanding the business reality. The technical fix is usually the easy part.
Today, I help organizations — typically mid-sized manufacturers and technology companies — cut through the noise around Data & AI. I ask the hard questions before expensive decisions get made. I uncover what's actually holding teams back. And I build foundations that last beyond my engagement.
How I work
I operate as a fractional executive, which means you get senior strategic thinking without the overhead of a full-time hire. For most clients, this looks like 2-4 days per month of focused work: board-level advisory, data strategy development, team capability building, or hands-on problem-solving alongside your people.
For larger implementations, I bring in trusted specialists — architects, analysts, and engineers I've collaborated with across multiple projects. You get a team that's worked together before, without consultancy markups.
Beyond client work
I'm an Associate Professor at Prague University of Economics and Business, where I teach Leadership in IT, Enterprise Architecture, and Data Analytics to master's and MBA students. I also serve as President of the IMD Alumni Club Czech Republic & Slovakia and as a Director of DAMA Czech Republic.
Teaching keeps me sharp. It forces me to explain complex concepts simply, stay current with what's emerging, and engage with the next generation of technology leaders.
Let's talk
If you're facing a data or technology decision and want an independent perspective before committing — or if something feels stuck and you're not sure why — I'd welcome a conversation.
